Trucks, Trucks and More Trucks

Little Paul, or LP as he's called by his dad “big” Paul,  is the 3-year-old star of Pembroke Community Media's new show, “Trucks, Trucks, and More Trucks”  filmed Sunday afternoon, April 7, 2013 at JA McCue Well Drilling in Pembroke.  CLICK HERE

LP's mother, Kelli Acevich, said “LP was over the moon with excitement and telling about how he spent the day with the trucks.  He is still talking about the ride on the all-terrain vehicle.  I think that was the highlight of his month.”

She went on to say,   “Sometimes I forget how momentous a simple experience like touching a big vehicle is for a little guy like mine.  What's even better is being able to watch my son's face.  He got a big kick out of seeing himself in the video, and the music was super too.  Thank you!”

The show starts with the unmistakable sound of a truck engine revving, then continues with original music from local premier country western group, “The Bloodhounds.”

“Trucks, Trucks, and More Trucks” is playing in the “Community” category “More Fun Videos Around Town” section at www.pembrokecommunitymedia.com.

Also new this week is a comedic 2 ½ minute introduction to the 1st Church in Pembroke, featuring “Old Rob Roy,” as he calls himself.  CLICK HERE.  Mr. Robert Roy III is a personable WWII fighter pilot and Harvard University graduate who likes ushering at Pembroke Center's congregational church.

“What do you like about me the most” Roy asks as he tells a joke, “my gorgeous face or my beautiful figure?”  Then comes the answer. “I think I like your sense of humor best of all.”

The song playing throughout the piece has a smooth, western theme.  “As I travel on this journey, full of hope and full of yearning” is sung by the choir, and makes one think of cowboys and horses on the range.

See smiles, flowers, the choir, and people being nice to each other in this snippet from an especially up-beat Sunday service.  And if you want Rob Roy's autograph, we have that too on a bulletin signed January 20, 2013.

Still another new addition to pembrokecommunitymedia.com for the months of April and May is a promotional video CLICK HERE for Pembroke Titans Football and Cheer Leading.

It's sign-up time for the fall 2013 season grades 1-8 cheer leading and grades 2-8 football.  Forms and information are just a click away, with 2 phone numbers to call for even more assistance.

Children interested in participating can watch the 58-second video that shows last year's cheer leaders and players out on the field behind Pembroke High School. It was filmed by a Pembroke Community Media volunteer using the camera for the first time, and is in the “Sports” category  “football” section.

The young football players and cheer leaders surely seem to be having a lot of fun, even though it rained during parts of that game against Rockland.

Also playing in the “Football” section is the Mighty Mites Titans vs Bulldogs full game from fall 2012. It is one of the top five most-watched programs on the site.

And in the arts, Pembroke fine artist Paul Crimi has posted a new video CLICK HERE this week in his “Expressions in Painting” section.  He shows ”Birch Trees #7” which is being raffled off. Tickets are $25 each, and available either from him by calling 781-724-3554, or from Joanne at HCP Hair Salon on the south side of Schoosett Street near Route 53 in Pembroke where the painting is displayed on an inside wall.

Crimi tells us that the hair salon is holding an open house June 8, 2013 from 5 to 8pm, and that is when the raffle will end.

“Somebody's going to get a valuable painting for a small amount of money,” Paul said,  “And that person will be very happy.”

The video has classical music playing in the background, and shows the painting close-up as well as from a distance.

“I like and need to have videos made of my work,” Crimi explains.  “Once a painting is sold or leaves me for whatever reason, it's gone forever. The videos of my paintings are all I have left.

“I'm especially grateful to my crew of students volunteering for Pembroke Media who help me with all the filming,” Crimi continues. “I wouldn't have been able to do any shows without them after the selectmen obliterated our station. Good night and God bless.”

Monies raised will be used for a trip to Ethiopia with Crimi's prayer group this fall.
