I AM THANKFUL FOR LOVE, A WARM HOUSE, & COLORED MASHED POTATOES

For what are you thankful?  For good things?  For the absence of bad?

The First Church in Pembroke, Massachusetts held a Thanksgiving Eve service at which members expounded upon their personal thoughts of gratitude, while others played and sung lovely music.

"For the home where I live, thank you for meadows and beautiful flowers. Thank you for rainbows and soft April showers," a young girl reads from a book as her mother approvingly looks on.  So sweet.

Next there is a solo by Jim Tucker, the choir's only male member.  "Thank You Lord for Loving Us All," he sings, "for the gifts both great and small."

Three women each speak briefly about their personal reasons and items for which they feel grateful.

Did you know that some families add color their holiday dinner by dying the mashed potatoes?  It's true, and that's something for which thanks can be given.

A constant thread throughout this video is the lovely flute and guitar duet by Julie and Greg. The crisp and airy song is presented  in three sections: at the beginning, middle, and end.

You will enjoy this quick, heartfelt, and to-the-point affirmation of faith in God's gifts.  It's 17 1/2 minutes of pure joy.  CLICK HERE to see the video
