Watch the Pembroke High School Thanksgiving Game Here

Thank D J Mattinson for same-day football viewing

The Mattinson family of Pembroke has taken pride in getting Thanksgiving high school football games ready for immediate public viewing ever since the Pembroke/Silver Lake rivalry began. This holiday it was Pembroke Media volunteer D. J. Mattinson who accomplished the nearly impossible “same-day” feat that his dad, professional media entrepreneur John Mattinson, pulled off other years.

D. J. filmed the entire game and half-time show from the top stands at the 50-yard line, braving freezing wind and cold to capture all the festivities on tape with his professional-grade camera. He then rushed home where the quality footage was uploaded, edited, and burned to disc Thanksgiving Day afternoon.

Same-day viewing is far different from live feeds needing no editing. The refining process which removes, adjusts, adds, and removes pictures and sound can take days. The job of placing graphics, introductions, endings, and credits can continue for days, weeks, and months more.

D. J.'s remarkable, same-day, polished production can be seen at pembrokecommunitymedia.com in the sports section.

“I was recording for the coaches while D J was catching the action for all the rest of us,” the elder Mattinson said. “I look forward to being here every year, but it was damn cold. Players and fans were fighting the elements, and D J said he saw some parents shaking.”

The traditional Thanksgiving Pembroke Titans vs Silver Lake Lakers football game started 10 am with Titans first winning the toss, and finished with a 21-17 Titans win.

HOW DID WE PEMBROKE FOOTBALL FANS GET SO LUCKY?

Pembroke, November 23, 2012 ~ WE HAVE A WINNING VARSITY TEAM, AND WE HAVE D.J. AND JOHN MATTINSON FILMING

While Pembroke was pounding Silver Lake in what ended as 45-34 Varsity Football Thanksgiving Day victory, DJ Mattinson and his Dad, Mr. John Mattinson, AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE were filming and later editing and presenting the entire event. Both men volunteer for Pembroke Community Media Center, the new volunteer-run, web-based entity that has a full battery of shows formerly available on TV channels 13, 14, and 15.

The morale-building support of media coverage by Pembroke Community Media Center drives players to their peak performance levels.  Knowing that every game is filmed and open for extended viewing 24/7 gives a boost that can't be topped.  Thank you Mattinson family.  Without your dedication, none of the games would be publicly available in their entirety, or at all.

Players, parents, fans, and all involved are credited with this 2012 Titans Varsity Football winning season. Coach Bob Bancroft has led the Titans to a league championship and Division 3 playoff berth.

And what an exciting game this was!

At the 3-minute mark, Pembroke's #15, Cory Brandon, threw an unbelievable pass from his own 36 Yard line to #21, Adam Litchfield scoring the first touchdown.  That golden moment made it impossible for the Lakers to turn the Titans back in this, the second consecutive Thanksgiving game that the two teams have met with Titans garnering a win.

Brandon went on to throw two additional touchdown passes and run for two more scores.

To date this season, the Titans have lost to only 3 Patriot League Fisher Division teams, Duxbury, Oliver Ames, and Stoughton, giving them a 7-3 overall record going into the November 27th Tuesday night Division 3 Super Bowl playoff competition.

Pembroke will play Sharon which has an 8-3 record.  Pembroke Community Media Center will be there again to catch the action.
