Nantucket in the Winter Time
Sept. 27, 2012, Pembroke, MA ~
This episode of “Expressions in Painting with Paul Crimi” is dedicated to the artist's brother Vincent Crimi who in his 50’s was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Vincent just turned 70 and was on his deathbed.
This show is a tribute to a much-loved family member who "is a great brother and will always be a great brother and will be missed a lot."
Paul starts with a reminder of the meditative quality and strength of birch trees and how reminiscent they are of people. He continues the show with a photograph of “Nantucket in the Winter Time” that transforms into a beautiful watercolor painting.
Watch as a black canvas becomes aqua water, blue sky and sands of Nantucket.
Listen to the melodic words explain the intricacies of mixing colors and textures to create this beautiful painting.
“That’s what it is all about” Mr Crimi says. And we agree.

Pembroke, Massachusetts, September 25, 2012
What a wonderful day for Sunday's Pembroke 300th Anniversary Parade in which our own Pembroke High School Marching Band entertained the entire town on a long route from learning Lane to the Center of town. The 300th Anniversary Committee facilitated and outdid themselves as thousands of Pembrokians stood, sat and ran to watch and become part of the historic passing parade. There were smiles a mile long all along the route.

I love a parade, the tramping of feet, I love every beat I hear of a drum.
I love a parade, when I hear a band I just want to stand and cheer as they come.
That rat-a tat-tat, the blare of a horn, that rat-a tat-tat, a bright uniform;
The sight of a drill will give me a thrill, I thrill at the skill of everything military.
I love a parade, a handful of vets, A line of cadets or any brigade,
For I love a parade. ~Arden

I LOVE A PARADE ---- A PEMBROKE, MASSACHUSETTS PARADE
20 September 2012 Pembroke, Massachusetts---
Hey All! There’s parade at 1pm Sunday the 23rd commemorating 300 years of incorporation following a swipe of the pen by the infamous Earle of Pembroke.
For over 300 years the Pembroke community has been a significantly active part of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; known for its timber, herring, and numerous ponds which provided iron, ice, and an unlimited supply of power for the mills.
The colorful and popular James Michael Curley who was both Boston’s Mayor and the Commonwealth’s Governor, favored our fair town of Pembroke as a vacation spot so much that he created Route 36 as a state highway to assure maintenance of the road that took him to the Solari family’s Hobomock Inn for vacations.
The 1pm parade starts at the high school heading west on Learning Lane, then surrounds Curley’s old haunt before turning northward on Center Street to end at the Town Center.
Don’t miss the ladies from PCMC in the all-original 1969 Yellow Cutlass with the White Convertible Top. They’re 12th in line right before the Navy Band and just behind the Legion Honor Guard.
Ms. Ann Ryerson says that she and her crew look forward to seeing and filming everyone at this hometown event on which the Pembroke 300th Committee has been working so hard.
Watch for other Pembroke Community Media Center volunteers filming history along the procession route and then go to www.yourpcmc.com to see the Pembroke-only programming you’ve come to know and love, any time of the day or night.

Pembroke High School Girls Field Hockey -- 3rd Game Against Stoughton
Pembroke, MA - Pembroke High School Girls’ Field Hockey played their third game of the season against Stoughton High School on September 8th, 2012.
Pembroke Community Media Center, Inc. (PCMC) volunteer Deanna Hatch was there again to catch the game’s excitement.
The running never stops when these two evenly-matched teams square off for a Saturday morning match in the sun behind Pembroke High School. I won't tell you the final score, but rest assured that fans of either team will be pleased both with the game and the outcome.
PCMC partners with and regularly provides programming to other local media access stations. A hearty "Oh yes, Thank you," came from Executive Director, Stephen Innis of Stoughton Media Access Corp. Stephen supervises educational channels 6 and 26, and will be playing PCMC's edited footage for his community of approximately 27,000 residents.

Prom Angels Fundraising Event at the Pembroke Country Club
September 17, 2012, Pembroke, Massachusetts, Pembroke Community Media Center, Inc. (PCMC) spent Friday, September 14, 2012 at Pembroke Country Club capturing the fun and activities of the Prom Angels Golf Classic.
Prom Angels is a tax-exempt, non-profit foundation entering its 5th year of service. “I was motivated by people's ignorance of the special-needs community,” said Kevin McKenna, President and Founder, “and felt I had to make changes to improve their quality of life."
“Our Foundation's mission is to provide safe, fun and socially empowering activities for people with special needs. Sporting activities, holiday parties and the Special Needs Prom define both our purpose and focus, and are supported by a network of committed staff, volunteers and local business communities.”
The golf tournament, dinner, and auction were hosted by Pembroke Country Club owner and NHL star Jeremy Roenick, and sponsored by local businesses to raise money for Prom Angels events held in and around the Plymouth County area.
Noted Golf Classic guests included Red Sox legend “Gentleman Jim” Jim Lonborg, State Senate President Therese Murray, and 6th Plymouth District State Representative candidate Josh Cutler.
The next Prom Angel function is an October 28th Halloween Party from 4-7 pm also being held at the Pembroke Country Club.

Pembroke Community Media Center (PCMC) First Annual Children's Night
September 6th's Pembroke Community Media Center, Inc (PCMC) First Annual Children's Night was a packed affair and an especially yummy event for youth interested in getting involved with media production right here in Pembroke. Parents brought golden chocolate coins, candies, colored cookies, juices, sweetened crackers, and even flowers; but the biggest hit was a fast-disappearing bag of freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies straight from Program Director, Ms. Ann Ryerson's kitchen. Those happy, chocolate-laced faces in the photos belong to an ever-growing young fan base of Ms. R.'s baking expertise.
Two-year-old budding cameraman Paul B., spent time adjusting a tripod that was specially shortened to his height. Grandmother Cathie was amazed at how fascinated her grandson was with the equipment. “At first I was worried that little Paul shouldn't be touching the tripod, then I realized that's the whole point of this party. Yes, yes yes.”
Coming to the event gave Ms. Taveres, who brought grandchildren Michaela and William, an idea to reconvene the boisterous group at the Lydia Drake Library were she regularly volunteers. "I'll find out when the larger room is available, and we can tape a new reading show.”
All agreed that would be a good plan, and two of the girls said they would write their own books. Katie R. said, “It's a new show so we should have new books. I wonder if the librarian will be there and will want to keep our stuff for others to read, because after a show is made with my book, it'll be famous.”

playing the September 4th Girls' Field Hockey game filmed, edited, and produced by Pembroke volunteers right here in Pembroke.
“Once I knew what an exciting game it was,” said a Pembroke volunteer, “I wanted to get it edited and out to the public right away. The whole thing was done by Wednesday night.”
Jay Miller at BCA said he was glad to be getting programming from PCMC, since they in Brockton were unable to attend the Pembroke/Brockton game. BCA channels reach over 94,000 households.
