Presidential Award for Services ~ Awarded to Robert Ryerson of Pembroke, MA


October 2, 2012 Pembroke, MA ~ Pembroke Community Media Center, Inc. was there to record Pembroke's own Mr. Robert Ryerson receiving The President's Volunteer Service Award as part of the Presidential Lifetime of Service Award Ceremony and dinner hosted by Mayflower RSVP at Plimouth Plantation on Thursday, September 27.  Of the thirteen retired and senior volunteers honored with the award, Bob had the most years of service.


Nominated by Constance Michaels who herself is a former recipient, Bob was recognized for donating over 25 years of volunteer service  to Pembroke Access Television.  He has been volunteering since  Pembroke's public access television inception in 1985 with Campbell Cable Company.

Mr. Ryerson directed over 200 cable shows, serving as a camera man and also as a teacher in acting and production to seniors and youth in the Town of Pembroke.

Mayflower RSVP initiates volunteer programs and services in Southeastern Massachusetts.  With over 750 volunteer programs in their network, they provide opportunities for older Americans to make a difference nationwide and in local communities.   Their mission is to initiate programs and services that bring continuous improvement to people's lives through organized volunteer services.
