Deanna Hatch Films Girls' WHP Varsity Hockey for Pembroke Community Media Center

“One, two, three, W, H, P!” is the cheer the Whitman/Hanson/Pembroke girls' varsity high school hockey team shouts prior to the start of play for their games which this year all are being filmed by Pembroke Community Media Center volunteer, Deanna Hatch, using professional-grade cameras and tripods.

The resultant edited videos start and end with original “Welcome to the Show” music by Kevin MacLeod, have graphics identifying key plays and penalties, and keep viewers in step with the action.

According to Deanna, “We put a lot of time into recording and editing each game and getting the DVD's to Coach, and everybody appreciates that.  Other parents may not realize how much time goes into each video, but they know it's a lot of work.”

Deanna's daughter, Mel, is one of two keepers for WHP which claims the Bridgewater Ice Arena(BIA) as its home rink.  William Flynn is head coach. WHP is in the Southeastern MA girls' Hockey League south Division I, and has the motto:  “Three Towns + Two Schools = One Team.” The three towns are Whitman, Hanson, and Pembroke; and the two schools are Whitman/Hanson and Pembroke High School.
Dan Mastrogiacomo, Dana Battista, and Adelia DeSisto  are assistant coaches this 2012-2013 season which spans from the beginning of last month, December 8th, to February 20th's final game against Mansfield which will be played at 3:30 pm at Hobomock instead of BIA.

There are still 14 games in this 23-game-season between now and then, starting tomorrow at 6pm with WHP meeting the Barnstable Red Raiders at Kennedy Memorial Skating Rink, 141 Basset Lane, Hyannis.

If you're wondering how Deanna is able to travel to each and every game, join the club.  She's been heard saying “I can never get enough of this,” referring to girl's hockey games.  Perhaps that is motivation enough for the tireless hours of driving, filming, and fund raising she does for WHP, and did for Titans Girls' Field Hockey September through November.
“Deanna is great and has always been great,” said Ann Ryerson, program director for Pembroke Community Media Center's web-based media company, referring to Ms. Hatch's devoted coverage of girls' field hockey and hockey. “Even with a family and full-time job, she keeps going. I applaud her 'wonderfulness.'”

Pembroke Community Media Center's Deanna Hatch Covers All PHS Girls' Varsity Hockey Games

WHP is the name of the Titans' Whitman-Hanson-Pembroke Girls Hockey team that calls the 15-year-old Bridgewater Ice Arena(BIA) at 20 Bedford Park it's home rink.   Prior to the opening game on December 8th, WHP played and Deanna filmed 2012-2013 season scrimmage meets against Marshfield, Franklin, and Dedham at the Hobomock, Marlboro, and Hyde Park rinks respectively.

Deanna's daughter, Pembroke High School senior Mel Hatch, is on the team.
CLICK HERE for December 5th WHP vs Dedham at the Bajko Memorial Rink on Turtle Pond Parkway, Hyde Park, MA.

The season's December 8th opener against Hanover/Cohasset started with a goal by Ali Webster who was assisted by Jackie Sullivan and Jane Morrisette.  WHP's Giana DeAcetis scored next, assisted by both Jane Morrisette and Ali Webster.

There was serious action, as evidenced by seven penalties being called: four for WHP and 3 for Hanover-Cohasset.

More points were scored, but we don't want to ruin things for you if you don't yet know which team won.  CONTACT US for viewing instructions/information for this one hour and 8 minute, privately-linked presentation.
We'll keep you posted as Pembroke Community Center volunteers edit more of Deanna's WHP Varsity hockey footage.
