The
building was erected in 1727 under the guidance of the first Minister Daniel
Lewis, and served as the gathering place of The Patriots for 16 years spanning
from 1760 to 1776. The present structure
was built after the original was destroyed in 1837.
Filmed
on November 25th, 2012 by community volunteer Heather Lapham, this 4 minute, 42
second peek into the First Church during a service is just the thing to satisfy
your Sunday worship needs.
See
an old church drawing and the beautiful sanctuary chandelier, read an original
note now encased in glass, take a bulletin from the ushers, sing a song, and
wave “goodbye.” There. You
went to church and enjoyed it too.
